Winter Still Here

Because winter refuses to leave Dennis had to fire up the Green Monster again. We turned it off around April 1st and lasted about a week without it. It was just to cold in the house. The plan now is to turn it off again May 1st. Our wood supply is all gone we are using some of the wood we planned to use next winter.

We still needed to add to this wood pile there isn't enough for next winter but it should be nice and dry. We never seem to get ahead on the wood.

Spaghetti Cake

Easter dessert made by Aunt Alberta. Recipe from the Food Network magazine. The spaghetti frosting noodles look fantastic. Not the best photo op, she's in her car on her way to Easter dinner.

Foot Prints in the Snow

The bear is awake and exploring our yard. This foot print was discovered Friday night right outside the back door. The little footprint is Zoe.

The bear did a lot of exploring all around the birdfeeders in the front and back of the house. He went between the garage and the house. And all around the garage and checked out the garbage bin by the garage door.

The snow is what gave the bear away, otherwise we wouldn't have known. The snow has melted but there is more snow forecast for tomorrow. Everyone keeps saying it has snowed on Mothers Day, I hope not. Where is Spring???

Afghan Completed

This is the only project I completed in April. I had a whole list of things I was going to accomplish, I don't know what happened. Afghan is crocheted with Red Heart Pinata yarn.

Lake Is Open

The lake was just starting to open on Saturday, April 16 while it was snowing.

The lake opened on Sunday, April 17, 2011 except the little bay in front of our neighbors.

It has snowed eleven days this month. They say it could snow this weekend. It better not.

More March Projects

Another quilt top finished this one from scraps. It looks so much nicer than the photo. I am really happy with the way it turned out. It is from Jodi at Pleasant Home, her version of a patchwork scrappy quilt. Just another way to use up all those scraps. I still have lots left.

Dining Room Done

The floor is done and looks nice.

And the doorway has been dry-walled.

The furniture has been moved back in and everything looks good except the paint on the walls. We had a slight problem with paint, we used a gallon of leftover paint from the living room. The label on the can said sandstone but there is a little bit to much of a pink tone. I had a quart mixed of new sandstone to paint the new dry-walled doorway and it matches the living room color perfectly. No sure what happened but I probably should have gotten a whole new gallon size of sandstone. I guess I just didn't feel like painting the whole room over again. Sometimes it looks fine and other times that pink sure does show. You can see the difference in paint color on that picture of the doorway. I just noticed that. Guess we will paint that some other time.
